What do you think is the Best Version of "Claire de Lune"?

Who is the artist and why do you think it's the best version, i like the Philadelphia Orchestra version, but im wondering...

I have several versions. The piece is a solo piano work originally. The best player of Debussy's music is supposed to be Walter Gieseking. However, I prefer Pascal Roge's versions - they are superbly played and the sound and engineering of the recordings is hands down better.

If I'm not mistaken, it was originally written for solo piano: and I most certainly could be wrong.

And I personally prefer the solo piano version to that of an orchestral rendition; just personal taste I guess.

For a definitive recorded performance, check out one made by Artur Rubinstein: he in my opinion was the greatest of any and all of the 20th century pianist. Just my opinion.

Wotan

Definitely the harp version by Catrin Finch, Debussy should have composed the piece for harp instead of piano!!!!

The best one is.....

Phillippe Entremont.

This pianist appears with his "Clair de Lune" on the "Best-Loved Piano Pieces" LP album. Grew up with this lovely version of the Debussy piece in the 1980s. Debussy was French. Philippe was French.
Isn't a French pianist great for a piano piece by a French composer? Yes.

But this one is hard to get since it is not on vinyl anymore.
