How much is it...piano tunning..?

not sure if i spelt that right, but on average, how much is it to get a piano tuned?

It depends on where you live and who is available to tune in your area... from what I heard it's rather expensive.

I've yet to have my piano tuned but I hear it could range from 80-100+ in my neck of the woods. Montreal, Canada. Yeah it depends on where you live.

I pay about A$200 every second month!

It depends on your area, availability for the tuner, and if the piano is an upright (usually more expensive) or a grand. My friends mom charges $115-150 for grand pianos and $175-200 for uprights.

Why more for uprights??? They are more dangerous for the tuner to tune because if a string breaks on an upright it shoots right back up at them and could cause them to lose a finger or injure them pretty badly otherwise. A grand is different because the broken string has more area to move and dissipate its potential for danger.

My dad is a piano tuner in NH, and he charges 70-80 dollars when tuning in NH, 80-90 dollars when tuning MA for cost of gas.

If it's more than a hundred bucks and you are an amataeur, go to Cosco or any music store and get a keyboard. Almost as good and never will untune.
