so i took a music appreciation class and i recently heard a song during a comercial and i cant think of the title. its really bugging me. it starts with a flute solo playing a series of notes and when the initial solo is done, another flute comes in at an octave lower. any suggestions? It's not the "Dance of the Reed Flutes" (in that dance the theme is build with all the three flutes in the orchestra).
My guess is it's about the introduction of the "Moldau" ("Vltava"), the symphonic poem which is a part of the cycle "My Country", composed by Bedrich Smetana.

By the way, in this introduction they are the flutes and the clarinettes. "Dance of the Reed Flutes" or something like that: having to do with flutes, from Tschaikowsky's "Nutcracker" ballet. One of the most beautiful and "show off" pieces for flute(s) ever written.
But then, almost everything from the "Nutcracker" is beautiful beyond belief.
