Rossini is one of my favorite composers. I would love to have his Tancredi, Il Signor Bruschino, and Cinderella overtures. I was wondering if anyone had them and is willing to share? lol and my most important question is in addition--what composers are similar to Rossini? i would love to listen to more music in that style....if u have any composer names or songs i would love to have them!! thank you! Try Paisello. He lived at about the same time as Rossini, and was very popular at the time. (The fictional Tosca was supposed to be a renowned interpreter of Paisello.)
I believe that comic opera was one of Paisello's specialties. He wrote a "Barber of Seville" which rivalled that of Rossini. If I remember correctly, there is a humorous number in the opera in which one servant suffers from a coughing spell, another from a hiccupping spell, and another from a sneezing spell. haha i thought you said rosin..nvrm I think your best bet for finding the overtures you named, will be You Tube: just type them in, and click. There's an enormous amount of opera on there.
As far as similar composers, I assume you are familiar with Mozart. Another you might check out, though he is somewhat later, is Gateno Donizetti. Another - though he's earlier - Chistopher von Gluck. The Met did one of his operas today. If you're unawares, the Met(New York's Metropolitan Opera)is broadcast on our local NPR station every week(Reno, Nevada).
Enjoy,
