Hi. I have always been interested in playing the piano but have now decided it's time to act upon that so now I am goign to start learning :)
But first... I will need a keyboard, I was considering this model the yamaha DGX-220, a bit basic but will it be suffice for an absolute beginner, i know the DGX-620 is supposed to be good but is it worth paying 拢400+ for an instrument I may not be good at?

Thanks If you want to learn the piano (as opposed to keyboard) then you will need weighted keys. The instrument you have chosen does not have weighted keys and will not be suitable. Well, if you think that you are serious about learning it, then, give it a try! My second organ, Yamaha's EL-500 was around 拢3000+ 7 years back! :p But, why not play a real piano? An upright piano should do the trick. Cuz, it provides you the real "feel" of how a piano should be. A keyboard is fine if you prefer portability. -my organ is over 80kg!!! :p I wanted to learn how to play the piano as well, so I taught myself on a keyboard. The transition from keyboard to piano is very tough, and I still haven't gotten the hang of it. On the keyboard,however, it had those lessons where I could match up the note on the paper with the actual key, and that's how I learned!! :-) |
