Pianists: I need to buy an 88 key digital piano with semi-weighted keys around $1000. Any suggestions? |
Right now I have a Roland EP90, but I need something a bit more advanced. Keys are too light, nowhere close to the feel of a real piano. See if you can try out the Kurzweil SP2X 88-Key Stage Piano with hammer action. I used to have a Roland that sounded great. It didn't have a lot of extra features, but the piano and strings sounds on it were fantastic. It felt great to play too!! yamaha makes a greeat model for about 600 just look them up you will see the keys are weighted and it works great I'd go with a used yamaha clavinova. They're digital pianos but not as portable as the roland key boards. I got mine new for 2000. I'm sure you can find a good used one for less than that. they have 3 weight levels for the keys, a couple of different voices (organ, guitar etc) different accoustics (hall, room etc) and 32 note polyphony so you can play big chords with out one note cancelling another out. also comes with a recording option, midi ports, head phone jack, metranome and trasposition tool. Its a great little instrument and I really like mine. hope that helps! You are going to have problems finding keyboards at any price with the feel of a real piano. |
