Hardest gustav holst planet? |
my high shcool band is currently playing mars by holst, we have previously played jupiter, and for all you music buffs i was wondering on yoru opinion which of all the planets is the hardest song to play? thanks! it depends on which instrument you are refering too!!!!! for upper strings it has to be jupiter, as there are about 25 bars of broken arrpeggios, as well as consistent time changes and also the dynamics are a bit of a pain as well, for wind and woodwind, its probably uranus, mainly because of the key its written in as well as some very fast passage work for flutes, oboes, and clarinets I don't know, but Jupiter is the awesomest!! As a concert cellist I found the Mars movement to be most difficult. With all due deference to "Dragon Bob", and am certain he knows what he's talking about, but I'll Ditto "ironclow". For trumpet - most definately - Uranus. |
