What is 'School Color Band Approved' trumpet? Is it a brand like Yamaha or Bach? |
As a beginner,i wan to purchase a trumpet. Is School Color Band Approved trumpet good? Always check with your band director to find out what instruments he recommends. Most directors I know don't care for the colored instruments, brass or silver being the finish of choice. Perhaps this means that your new trumpet should not be green if your main school color is blue or vice versa. Trumpets come in a variety of finishes & laquers ( black, red, green, blue, un-laquered , of course, regular laquer(gold) and silver. "School Color Band Approved" is NOT a brand name. It is just a statement that the manufacturer can provide the instrument in your school color. Good morning! First of all, these guys saying that a colored trumpet is poor quality are full of it! Like anything else, it depends on how they are manufactured. I've been a trumpet player for 22 years now and these negative comments you are receiving are probably coming from salesmen battling for your business. Be careful. A lot of places I have found advertise their beginning band instruments as new, but really they are refurbishing old ones and adding a new, crisp finish and then asking too much! Beginners don't know any better! I reccommend looking up dymusicusa, get the phone # and ask for Sylena. She is extremely nice and can help you find the best horn at the best price without any hassles! I love my trumpet I got from them. They are endorsed by the Canadian Brass and other known pros! |
