Chopin's Nocturne no. 8 op. 27 no. 2. It's my personal favorite from him.

Happy listening!

I think it depends on what you're going to be doing when you listen to it. Some kinds of music goes well with one activity, but not another.

Anyway, I would highly recommend:
Rachmaninoff, prelude in C sharp minor
Rachmaninoff, prelude in G minor
Debussy, Clair de lune
Chopin, Fantasie in F minor

Those are all fairly modern, and all basically piano pieces.

Hope you like them!

Try Michael Jones or George Winston. Liz Story is nice, there's always Yanni, too. I'm sure you'll get a healthy sampling here...

Mozart-a little night music, Pachelbel-canon in D, Schubert -ave maria, Beethoven-Symphony Number 9, Brohmm or Brahmm not sure how u spell it-Lullaby..not classical but great piano..the instrumental to my heart will go on by celine dion

Christopher above me gave a bunch of music for people who are really into classical music and truly are great pieces like Rachmaninoff and Debussy, but you probaly want something more like Beethoven. Mozart's eleventh Piano Sonata is very recognizable and I would recommend it to everyone. His twenty third Piano Concerto is also recognizable and very good. Beethoven's fourteenth Piano Sonata Moonlight everyone has heard and just about everyone likes. His Emperor Concerto is my favorite very listenable Piano piece of his. Glen Gould playing the Goldberg Variations is one of the most famous Piano pieces every. Find the 1955 recording not the 1981 one. Chopin is also always incredible popular among Pianists. His revolutionary Etude, Third Movement of his second Piano Sonata, Nocturne in Eb Major are all incredible famous and very listenable. While I do like Rachmaninoff's Second and Third Piano Concertos better than any of the above compositions (except for the Goldberg Variations) it's they are as listenable as what I stated above.

Search itunes for specific pianists - like Alfred Brendel, Artur Rubenstein, Krystian Zimerman, Murray Perahia and Vladimir Ashkenazy and you find tons of piano music.
