Although it ultimately resolves into a glorious, joyous affirmation of life, to arrive there, the composer portrays a pinning, poignant struggle that must be endured in order to do so.

A transcendent, meta-physical statement that suggests a spiritual transformation, that all seekers of self-realization must undergo in order to experience it.

I cried all the way through the film 'The Pianist', starring Adrien Brody - the soundtrack music was, I think, mostly Chopin and was made up of recordings of the real person Brody's character was based on.
