What are some good stringed instrument songs?

such as violin or viola or cello.....i started listening to apocalyptica who cover metallica and the rolling stones and stuff with just cellos and its prett cool

Theres a string cortet that only covers muse songs. and also, my favorite cello piece is Bach's Prelude No. 1. Check it out on youtube. its beautiful.

There are no string instrument songs. Songs are written for voice. What you are looking for are string instrument pieces. There are many, many string pieces in the classical canon. If you want Apocalyptica stuff I suggest you ask in the pop forum - that is where you are likely to find Metallica and Stones stuff.

Although this question isn't truly classical music I will answer for the fact I love Apocalyptica....
