All genres in one book?

i am trying to find a book that teaches you the history of classical music, baroque, renaissance,jazz and others i just want all genres in one book . a book that describes a genre , teaches you how to play it and everything eles.

You won't find one book dealing both with the history of music which also teaches how to play. It would be far too heavy even to lift. The best I can suggest is the Larousse Encyclopedia of Music which is comprehensive on history, but does not deal with technique.
