I wanna play the piano again?

I took piano lessons for 5 years (7 to 11 years old..) I am now 18, and I would like to restart, I tried a little earlier but it's kind of hard, and I forgot some things, since it's been awhile. I don't really have time to take lessons again, since I'm in university. Will it be that hard to learn by myself, and do you know a good website for that?

You could try looking at the music department at your university and seeing if they offer a Class Piano for Non-music Majors. My school offers that occasionally.

And yeah, it will probably rather difficult to actually learn to read music and to use proper fingering without instruction. If you have to learn on your own, I'd recommend going to a local music store and picking up a beginner note speller/piano theory book and a beginner's book of songs, and then go from there.

n o you can learn it again just have a time for practice and focus a little bit. Its better if you enroll piano lesson in your univerity so that you can manage your time. Good luck.

You can teach yourself piano but it would be much better to have a teacher.
Practise your scales (in similar and contrary motion) and practise your sight reading until you can organise something in the way of lessons. Many books show you the correct fingering for the scales.

Is there a music department at your university ? Perhaps you can hire one of the third year students to teach you ?

I suggest taking a single lesson or finding a teach-yourself book

Have a look around in music shops.

http://www.amazon.com/Alfreds-Basic-Adul... is a pretty good book... my friend has it but it moves pretty slowly.

http://www.amazon.com/Teach-Yourself-Pla... is a teach-yourself book by the same author, so its a reputable brand.

There are reviews to.

Anyway, good luck,

I definietly reccommend using books rather than web pages.

And as you are older than you were you will probably understand the theory BEHIND everything more now.
