What's up with TV shows with a fat husband, and hot wife?

Is it like some sort of formula that guarantees success, i.e...Flinstones, Simpsons, Family Guy, King of Queen, dozens of others...

You forgot Roseanne. We had 2 fatties in that one. But-you're right-it's usually fat husband hot wife. And you know that would never happen in the real world.

to show the average guy that he too can have a hot wife...(not)

It's just TV. Don't take it seriously.

they make for good comedy...if you noticed, those are all comedies

Just means that he is more confident.

Male writers. Male Advertisers. Male Consumers. Male Money.

The average American right now is overweight.

Men like seeing larger people having hot wives. It makes them think that they, too, can have hot wives/girlfriends.

Women like seeing the ideal woman. Someone who is pretty, thin, and beautiful.

The shows are usually comedies because it's pretty easy to put the two together to create awesomeness.

Alternatively, all the comedians right now are fat. There are just no skinny people who are funny. ;-)
