Why no more Chuck Episodes until after the first of the year??

Is it because of the writer strike?

It's the end of the season. All the channels do this. It is because their ratings aren't very high during the holiday season so they just take a break.

Hopefully the writer's strike won't get in the way of my shows! I LOVE CHUCK AND HEROES!!!!

It's Dec and shows almost always have a Dec Hiatus. There are 2 shows left until they run out. FYI, it has been picked up for the full season, so if we get past this strike soon, we will have a full season of our adorkable spygeek :)

It takes roughly 1 to two weeks to film a whole episode of an hour long tv show. when the writers strike started two months ago they had a stock pile of 5 to 6 scripts written and ready to be shot. When the writers strike started the studioes had to act fast and turn their last available scripts into seudo finales until the situation could be worked out. Hopefully everything will be back on track in the spring of next year.

everyone else pretty much already answered the question. as far as i can tell it's because of the writer's strike. they've been ending a lot of shows the past couple weeks because of it. my only concern is that chuck and the other new shows may not have a big enough fan base to bring it back for another season. most shows get a full 20 something episodes to build a fan base but it got cut short by quite a bit. that's what i think they mean by the thing at the end of chuck last night when they said "chuck will be back... we hope." or whatever. i think it was a double meaning to mean the character in the context of the show and the show as a whole.
