Who thinks most of music in ads on tv are better than the crap in the charts?

yeah! I tend to download tracks that i hear on adverts than the ones in the charts... unless its an advert promoting a song in the charts that i like!

Agreed. I became a fan of future86 because of their Io commercial and I also found another song I like (can't think of the name right now) that was in a sweater comercial.

Definitley, Simone White's the beep beep song on the Audi R8 advert is quality also Feist - 1234 for the ipod is good.

Ugh I hate the charts because the all the songs are so overrated
On the radio songs are overplayed too much.

I often wondered about this as there is , or has been a big trend to use old pop music from the 60's and 70's I t occurs to me [ as an old fogey ] that masses of young folk will never have heard them so they will recognise the music as great, [ because very little of todays music unfortunately has lasting qualities ] oops I didn't mean to put it down as such , its just that it is so so samey, whereas older music was consumed with character and variety, watching the adverts for The Mother ship [ Led Zeppelin} reminded me of the newness and excitement these bands could produce as they weren't manufactured......................

Yeah sometimes. That actually made me wonder, do the advertisers pay the artists for the right to use their songs in the adverts, or would they request that the artists pay them, because in a way they are also advertising their song...

Edit: to the person above, I disagree. Many people my age listen to music that's in the charts and oldies, we love it (well some not all) so it's nothing like that. It's just when the right advertisement uses the right song it works as effectively as using the right music video for a particular song. The difference is, we have to change the channel to watch a music video, but we can be watching anything to catch the advert on tv.... IF any of that made sense!
