How big of a show was Tool Time?

Was it national, or local?
was it on cable or network TV
how famous was Tim?

I'm not talking about Home Improvement, the show within the show Tool Time, I'm wondering If it was a hugely popular show or just on in their local area..

In one episode, his wife said that it was had the third best local home inprovement show in there area. So no, it isn't well known.

I think you mean "Tool Time" that was the popular show on Home Improvement.....right? If so I would say it was local but then again he was always "competing" with Bob Veela or whatever his name is. His shows were at least National so maybe it was national. If I was guessing though I would say local and he was a local celebrity.

Tool Time was just a "part" of Home Improvement. Binford tools are not real. Just made up. Tim the tool man was popular because Tim Allen played that character well

The show tool time in home improvement was a local cable access show sponsored by binford tools... throught the course of the show you see the binford name change hands and them attempt to change the format of the show, and everyone knows they changed girls.......... Towards the end of the show, sindication of the show is proposed, and they have to choose weather to go with Jill's new psych job or stay with tool time under the new format? they went with jills job offer......... I think... it has been a very long time since i saw the show....... but Tim was very famous in Detroit, and a very popular local celebrity but other than that, no one knew his name.............

I think tool time was a minor hit in the local Detroit area. It would have to pull in a nice amount of ratings since it was on the air during the time Home Improvement was on. It was on during the early afternoon, so it was probably fighting for ratings with soap operas, game shows, other talk shows. I believe towards the end of the show some plots had the show expanding into cities close to Detroit.
