Question about the Writer's Strike...?

Does the writers strike have anything to do with "The Office" showing re-runs for the past month? My sister swears that the two aren't related because they have already probably filmed the rest of this season, but I find it hard to believe that they would just show 4 weeks of re-runs out of the blue. I'm just trying to get this argument settled. Thanks!!

Most shows are written two-three shows ahead, especially the older, more popular shows. The newer shows went to re-runs much faster because they aren't written as far ahead. So yes, it's pretty likely that The Office is on reruns because of the strike, because many producers thought it best to hold over their few written episodes left for after the holiday break.

There isn't any more episodes of the Office filmed, sorry.

its probably a mixture of the strike and the holiday season.
