Do you think British films and TV shows are too laid back and boring? |
I do. The only funny British show I've ever seen was Benny Hill. Old dudes chasing chicks on fast forward makes me giggle. I think the sense of humor is just different. I know The Office was originally from England, and it's hysterical! And I love Monty Python! It's just a matter of what you like. I wouldn't say boring, cause some of their show are quit good, but many seems to laid back for me too. wasn't 28 days later british? that wasn't boring. british shows are great and their comedy is absolutely hilarious Not at all. It just takes a special brain to get. I, thankfully, have such a brain. Cheers! Eddy, Cheers! I don't. I think their actor's are great & don't have to be glamorous. The shows are really good whether you understand the humour or not...so good that the sit coms are now done in the US and locations & humour adjusted to American values. (I think Archie Bunker was a great copy but there are many more). They have series running on Public TV here out of Buffalo, NY. On our regular programming I tried Coronation Street and didn't understand it but I persevered (they really know how to devop indepth characters) took a while but I'm hooked. I used to watch The Eastenders but it's no longer carried in Canada but it is the US as my girl friend watches it. All I can say is watch a British sitcom called "Bottom" and tell me if you feel the same way. |
