Racism in computer animated movies? |
Racism in computer animation movies. Is it creeping in? ok: see links to pics here It's not only blue eyes, unfortunately! It's blonde hair and beauty too. Seen the Barbie prinsess computer animated movies. What should little girls think, even if they are white but unfortunately not blond and beautiful?! Ah, I don't think it's racism, I think lots of people just like blue eyes. What the hell are you talking about?!?!?!?!?!?! the pages don't exist!!!! but i don't think it's racism just because there are the best movies I'm white with brown eyes. Should I start boo-hooing over cartoon talking insects having different colored eyes than me? Kids don't care about the color of their eyes or skin, so I don't think it's a serious issue. yea, the hero normally always has blue eyes but don't take it personal...any1 who made those vids didn't try on purpose to be racist..blue eyes just stand out so the heros have them I can't believe somebody actually took the time to notice the eye color of cartoon characters and actually see in this a conspiracy to commit racism. Hitler would be proud of YOU for spending your time sitting around looking for something to be agrieved of whether it actually exists or not. I don't think that's racism at all. Please don't be ignorant of the fact that these shows were created by Caucasian people, among whom blue eyes are probably considered to be very beautiful. From a graphic design standpoint, blue eyes are simply easier to see and give more definition to an eye, so a blue eye ends up looking more like a 'real' eye. Darker eye colors don't have as much contrast, so they don't look as expressive on a character. If you pick me as the best answer then i will agree with you. =p This is true, but I don't think that it is malicious (so I wouldn't go as far as to compare this to Hitler's agenda). I think it is cultural. Most animators are white (most of hollywood - in front of the camera and behind the camera are white, for that matter) so they make movies that reflect their culture (which is why a lot of them have a hard time making movies that reflect other people's cultures. When was the last time you saw a movie featuring asian people where it wasn't martial arts based - for example). But they are not alone. People make movies based on their culture. In white american culture, the "visual" shorthand for good, pure, hero is blonde hair and blue eyes. It is used to differentiate quickly so that they can go ahead and tell the story. Again, I don't think there is anything sinister behind it - it is pretty unconscious. |
