What is 'yaoi' anime?

I'm still rather new to all this. I love anime, am learning, and am taking baby steps into manga. I've heard of yaoi anime and haven't a clue what it is.

Yaoi is almost gay porn but anime
Shounen-ai is like Yaoi, but less intense

Yuri is the girl form of Yaoi

yaoi is basically anime/manga about men in relationships.
in simpler terms, its gay men ^^
(its also often called BL, or boys love ^^)

shounen-ai is also like yaoi, though less explicit ^^

Yaoi is a more intense version of a man x man relationship than Shounen Ai (meaning 'boys' love...less explicit than yaoi)...since you are new to it you should watch Shounen Ai animes if you want to..some good ones are gravitation, loveless and Papa to Kiss in the Dark ^^

Yaoi anime is basically a romance anime with boy on boy relationships. Shounin-Ai is the fluffier boy and boy relationship, its less intense then yaoi. Yuri is the opposite. Shojo-Ai is the less intense version of Yuri.
