For those of you familiar with Garth Brooks: What does the song "Beaches of Cheyenne" mean? |
I had never heard it before I got the CD/DVD set that Wal-Mart is selling of his greatest hits. I can understand that a man died, and his wife basically had a mental breakdown, but what does the whole part about the beaches/water mean? There's no ocean near Cheyenne, Wyoming, lol. Is it something figurative? Another thing, did the wife die too later? I think we have a troll here that doesn't like Garth Brooks, lol. I don't know why both of the answers got thumbs down, they are both good answers. No ocean but there are lakes and beaches http://www.hikercentral.com/metros/16940... This is one person's opinion from a forum i ran across Beaches of Cheyenne represent the rodeo arenas. you're gettin' there stillmillcowboy!!! I haven't heard that one in a while. But like the others said, its about the rodeo and a man gettin' a bull nobody can ride and a woman grieving herself to death while walkin' the beaches of the lakes near Cheyenne after her man dies while trying to ride that bull.....It's a purty song... Philosophically Tex is right. But if you study the lyrics, the cowboy and wife/sig other were living in Cali: |
