I will never forget rolling into Los Angeles one cold night in January, helping a friend of mine move into a huge church that used to be a hospital. He was gearing up for a year as a missionary there, and I was looking forward to another semester of UCLA screenwriting classes online from New Mexico. Had all kinds of business to take care of. Well, it was so ironic that "Country Boy, You Got Your Feet In L.A." started playing on the tape in my tape player just as I got on the 101 freeway from I-10, taking me into the heart of downtown L.A., on a smoggy night, (you could TASTE THE AIR,) that I actually started crying. I had just gotten there, and I already wanted out of there so bad! why do you smell of rotten trout? |
