I heard that this great Texas legend is suffering from cancer. My prayers go out to Rusty and his family.
One of my favorite Rusty Weir songs is a comical one he does called"I hear you been laying my old lady" I hate to hear that he is sick and my thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family as well. i always liked "don't it make you wanna' dance". my last band did a great cover of that one, (everybody today thought we wrote it). i also loved his version of "desperados", (not the eagles song but the other one. "desperados waitin' on a train...". that one).
he just put out a new album a year ago or so. it got some play time on non commercial stations. i'm sad to hear he's doing poorly. get well soon rusty! I have the 45 you mentioned. I can't even remember how I came into posession of it, but I remember us sitting around the turntable and laughing our butts off. We were teenagers then, and that's about as raunchy as things got in the mid-80s. Nowadays, all you hear is the F-bomb in these gangsta rap numbers. |
