#1 Country Song That Makes You Cry?

What is the #1 Country Song that makes you cry and why? Do you get any other feelings along with sad feelings with that song?

Sing me back home by MERLE HAGGARD..SOOOO SAD!

It doesn't make me cry, per se, but I can relate to it... it really gets me.

5 Shots of Whiskey by Hank Williams III

If you've heard it, and you've lived it, you can't help but be touched by it.

shes everything.

its to sweet.

"Travelin' Soldier" by Dixie Chicks. It's a sad song about a young girl falling in love for a very young soldier in Vietnam, only to have him die in combat. So you have a life cut short; death in a pointless war; a teenage girl who will never see her true love again. God, I'm surprised I can keep my eyes dry just writing abouti t.

Other feelings? An appreciation of the beauty of the music, but also more sadness in knowing that the story has been true far too many times, and still happens to this day.

He Stopped Loving Her Today...........Why? because it's a sad song.

Concrete Angel. A little boy that was in my daughters class was murdered by his mother (though he is technically still missing). He was her best friend and this song hits me because of him. His name was Logan Bowman. His mother, Cynthia Davis, is in jail for neglect and abuse.

"When I get where i'm going" by Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton. Someone read it at my mom's wake, and now everytime I hear it I cry.

The Dance by Garth Brooks, it was played at my wife`s funeral two years ago.

Where Would You Be Today, by Kenny Chestney

Not too fond of Kenny, but I can relate to that song.

Where've you been.
Country Bumpkin

"I Loved Her First" because I remember dancing with my dad to this at my cousin's wedding. I feel really blessed to have grown up with such great parents when I hear it.

Jo dee Messina-Heaven was needing a Hero such a sad song..

Whiskey Lullaby - Brad Paisley & Alison Krauss, I've always liked that song but my daughter told me after her Father died that song reminded her of him and me. Now when I hear the song I listen to the song from her perspective and it breaks my heart because I now know exactly what she meant by her remarks concerning the song.

I hope you dance....such a moving song
and
concrete angel....a real tear-jerker

right now, Stay by Sugarland, just because of how emotional Jennifer Nettles gets while singing it

Concrete Angel By Martina McBride the whole story behind the song is so real and emotinal and Your Gonna Be By Reba McEntire, I don't know why it makes my cry maybe its the whole teen pregnancy and It will be okay thing. They are both very talented and my favorite singers who are great at singing very moving and strong songs!!!

"It's Been a Good Day For the Roses", by George Jones! That song always gets to me!

"Five Shots Of Whiskey" by Hank Williams III. It has to be the saddest song ever written, it just chokes me up when I hear it. Because it was the most gut wrenching song I knew of, I sang it at my mother's funeral.

EDIT: Just looked threw the previous answers. Wow, I am shocked someone else mentioned the same song as I did. :)

Letters from home-john micheal montgomery because its just so darn sad...it doesnt need an explaination.

Whos gonna fill their shoes by George Jones makes me cry. I saw him in concert and while he was singing this they had a slide show of all the legends playing behind him. I cry because it is so sad to me that there never be another red headed stranger, a man in black and folsom prison blues , the okie from muskogee, or hello darlin, Lord knows NO ONE WILL EVER FILL THEIR SHOES!!

Quite a few country songs will make me cry or bring a tear to my eye. But right now the one that is making me ball like a baby when I hear is "18 Video Tapes" by Jason Meadows. Not only does the song make me cry, but the video is just so moving! I'm starting to cry just thinking about it. If you get a chance go to CMT.com and watch the video.

tonight i wanna cry by keith urban.
i have times when something will happen and i will go back and listen to one of keith's songs because i can relate to it and i kno exactly what he's talking about and i just run the lyrics thro my head and relate to it with whats happened to me. i've had lots of times like that with this song and it just makes me bawl to go back and remember. i put it on repeat and cry and cry. but it always gets me thro the tuff times and i love how it does. all of his songs connect with people and thats one of the reasons why i love him so much. he is my life and my love.

Stealing Cinderella- Chuck Wicks

I think about how that'll happen one day

Tim McGraw with If Your Reading This

I'll wait for you-Joe Nichols. The video for it is soo sad.
If you're reading this-Tim McGraw & Concrete Angel-Martina McBride

The one that always gets me is George Jones He stopped loving her today. He sings it with such mournfulness, you almost feel like your going through it. I think we have all gone through break ups and we feel at the time we will never get over it. At the same time to think that someone could love you that much you wonder if you have it like that.---- You will never catch me drinking when that song is on.

Legend Of The Rebel Soldier by The Country Gentlemen makes me cry every time I hear it.(more bluegrass than country)

Nobody Knows by Kevin Sharp. It is so true about my life.

"The Baby" - Blake Shelton

This tops any sad country song. "A Legend in my Time". Hey the song say's it all, needs no explaination. Ronnie Milsap.

Spring...Tanya Tucker (1975). Its just so damn sad.
