What song(s) turned you country? |
Mine was "Heard it in a Love Song" - Marshall Tucker Band Mel Tillis - Julie I don't know what it was about that song, but ever since I first heard it in the 70's I was hooked. It was also the first song I learned all the words to. Always liked it.....first country tune I remember on the radio as a little "kid" was "Hey Good Lookin'" by Hank. Givin' away my age here - LOL "The Thunder Rolls", Garth Brooks "La basa", by Los Gatos ode to billy joe by bobbie gentry Bye Bye- by Jo Dee Messina All of Jimmy Rogers Songs,Believe it or not, they were 78s on Montgomery Ward, Sears and Roebuck Labels, which I still have I started listening to country music when "Buddy Holly" died. Two that if always loved since I was a kid are Make the World Away by Eddy Arnold and I Can't Stop Loving You by Ray Charles from the early sixties. I don't think I turned country I've always listened to it all my life. I remember playing my Dad's old Johnny Horton 45 rpm records we I was about 4 or 5 years old. MOST of my favorites that I've been listening to were classics when I was born!!! (I'm 25) But I was brought up on classic country.....didn't have to "turn" me onto country...I've always been a country listener!! "Once in a Lifetime" by Keith Urban鈾?br> From that day on when I heard that song I just fell in love and haven't listened to anything but country since!鈾?/div> "she thinks my tractor's sexy" -kenny chesney :) Always liked country music, I was raised on it, my first favorites were When She Cries-- Restless Heart and Love, Me-- Colin Raye. "Here for the Party" - Gretchen Wilson |
