How do you clean a banjo drumhead?I have asked two of my banjo playing friends. Both of them say, if it is plastic, use mild soapy water and then dry it immediately. If it is animal skin, don't do anything !... if it is bothering you, then replace it. If it is simply dirty but has no detrimental effect on the sound, do nothing... consider it 'character' !!!!! Jubal Hersaw is right. Other than asthetics, there is no reason to clean a banjo head. The dirtier it looks the better you look because it looks like you play it a lot. In fact, when I replace the head on mine, I play with dirty hands to break it in. |
