There are two famous singers who sing backup on Johnny Preston's "Running Bear" song. One is a country singer, the other a rock n roll singer. They do the "ooh waa waa" like indian chanting in the background. This is probably too easy a question but lets see who knows it. I recall reading about this years ago and I believe that George Jones was one of the background singers along with J.P. (The Big Bopper) Richardson. J.P. was the voice with the oompa oompa. Bopper wrote the song I do remember that. One of them is definitely J.P. Richardson, AKA The Big Bopper, one of the guys killed in the plane crach with Buddy Holly in 1959. |
