Why does Toby Keith charge $25.00 to join his fan club?

now i realy like toby keith but to charge $25.00?

Well, for one thing at a whole WHOPPING 7 cents a day..aside from the obvious presale advantage (which unfortunately is not that much of an advantage the last few years) you get to interact with some really great people and learn more than you can anywhere else if you are truly a fan. We have great discussion and have formed a family from all over of people that enjoy sharing our concert experiences, photos and stories in general.

Toby does not reap any monetary rewards from the fan club. It costs money to run the fan club, including small pay to Kay for keeping the site together and the fees for running and moderating the board. responding to emails, mailing out little freebie gifts randomly to active participants, contests, newsletters. TK interviews and news to post to members only. We put together our own raffles, have great tailgate parties, make contributions to Alley's House on behalf of the fan club members. Have yearly get togethers where Toby shows up and we get the inside know where he is appearing after concerts to get together and meet up with him for a more private intimate settings and enjoy his playing or singing in local bars after some shows.

If that isn't your thing you can always join in on the cmt message board that costs nothing but is not at all the same experience as being a member of the fan club. Like all fanclubs, you are either a fan and participate int he forums or you just join to get better seating for a concert. It is up to you to use that 7 cents a day and get the most out of it.

Maybe they have a really nice newsletter? Is that for a year? I doubt it was Toby making the decision on that, the fan club is probably a seperate entity, even if info is on his website.

Go check out some of the other singers and u will see they all charge to be in their club.

I was a member of his fan club for years. You get newsletters, little things like fridge magnets and autographed pics, plus a Christmas card from him. The best part of the club is the presale on concert tickets--I got 3rd row almost center and could not believe it! It was worth it just for that!!!

Basically because he can. That is why I don't join fan clubs, not gonna pay when I can be a fan for free.
