Does anyone know the name of the country singer that was on Letterman recently?

The song is a slow sad love song. The guy has reddish hair and the song is about Castles in the sand or something like that. I can't find this guys name anywhere.

Gone Left is right-Teddy Thompson is Richard Thompson's son. The song is called Change of Heart. Reminds me of the Mavericks!
