There's a great version on the first Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" (vol. 1) w/ Roy, Bashful Brother Oswald and lots of great pickers.

The original was by Roy Acuff,but the best rendition I have heard was by none other than George Jones.
