Need help interpreting an old Travis Tritt song? |
In the song he sings ' I'm tired of pretending I don't Love you anymore.. ' Is he saying that he's been pretending that he doesn't love her anymore but he really does love her or is he saying that he's been pretending to love her when he really doesn't? If you watch the video it helps too. This is the song he is a veteran in a wheelchair and he loves her, but he doesn't think that she will love him because he will live his life in this wheelchair. He wants to be with her, but he's afraid he will end up alone. When she see's what has happened to him. All that he wants is to hold her and for her to love him like she did before he was in the wheelchair. The song is about how he broke up with a girl and he tries to go on with his life like everything is normal so he IS pretending he doesn't love her when he really does. he's tired of pretending he doesn't love her, which means he really does love her. He really does love the girl, and he was pretending he didn't. He's tired of pretending he didn't. "Anymore" is a great song. This song is actually one of his 3 that go together....This song is about his wife who died while she was pregnant but the baby survived. When he says that "I'm tired of pretending I don't love you anymore" he means that he is trying to move on but that he can't because of the first song in the trio...he didnt get to say goodbye to his wife. It's a beautiful song for anyone who tries to move on but find that they can't. just trying to get over her, so he's in denial and pretending. he's still in love with here but he pretends he doesen't |
