I spent many periods in reform schools, correction centres and prisons from the time I was nine years old.

It was alledged that I killed an inmate in the showers while serving time in prison when the inmate attempted to have oral sex with me but was paroled in 1967.

I have been known to call myself "The Mysterious Rhinestone Cowboy" and became famous for songs about prison life.
