I couldn't agree with you more Lash. For many years now they have chosen to close the door on the legends who made country music what it is. It only takes a pretty face and tight jeans with a big cowboy hat to get airplay these days. It is so sad to see that so many of the greats of yesteryear have been turned out to pasture and not even mentioned. The ones in charge now wouldn't know a good country song and singer from a bulls butt. Take me back to the good old days.

Come to the bean blossom festival in my state, IN....you'll find plenty of people who recreate old-nashville country and bluegrass

Don't see that happening. Seems like Nashville has been doing the same thing for decades. Almost like Nasville has become an assembly line of bad country music (that passes for pop). With the way that stuff sells I don't see it changing. The rebels of country music are a lost breed.

Good luck with that plea, I don't see it happening. Times are changing and so must country music. Don't get me wrong I grew up on the classics also and I don't really much care for the new stuff either, but apparently this new style is appealing to the younger generation and they are selling out venues all across America. It doesn't show signs of slowing down anytime soon, so we best just get used to it. These new groups and singers are making money and I believe that Nashville is trying to appeal to the younger generation because they will fill venues, we older people do not attend as many concerts as we used to when we were younger and Nashville See's that. Good luck with trying to get Nashville to change their ways. I applaud you and give you a star.

Would love it if it got back to country music BUT the manager of the Opry has said he doesn't want any grey haires on his stage( It was a quote in a magazine ) it's not "his" stage , it wouldn't be there but for the public but he doesn't think of that .I think no one should go there at all ! Maybe then he'd come to his senses. Today it's all about money and sex ( sex sells tight jeans, dresses) not how much talent someone has. I want real country music to come back!
