Detour ???? Spade Cooley did that song. So did Hank Thompson but Hank did it much later.. I believe Patty Page did the original (I know she did a version if it, not sure if it was the original)
After I thought about it, it wasn't Patty Page, I think I have a 78 RPM record of Hawkshaw Hawkins doing Detour. I don't remember, but I vaguely remember some of the words, Detour, there's a muddy road, detour, paid no mind to what it said, detour, guess I shoulda read that detour sign. Or something similar.....long time ago!!! |
