Robbie Williams could quit EMI after his next studio album.
The singer signed a record 拢80m deal with the label in 2002 to produce four albums for the company. However, his manager Tim Clark indicated that changing music industry conditions could mean the artists would not remain on the label.
鈥淚 would be very wary about signing him to any major label at the moment,鈥?he explained, adding that 鈥渁ll options鈥?were open once Williams has completed his contract.
The news comes after former labelmate Paul McCartney branded EMI 鈥渂oring鈥?likening himself to "a couch" and Coldplay 鈥渁n armchair鈥?
Williams is contracted to release a new studio album, 鈥橪et鈥檚 Swing Again鈥? due in February 2008.
Clarke鈥檚 comment suggest that Williams could follow in the footsteps of and Radiohead, who have both left EMI in the past two years.
He said that the internet offered artists opportunities without the need for record labels, with Clarke explaining: 鈥淲hat we really don鈥檛 want is the dead hand of multinationals throttling these brilliant opportunities.鈥?
Rude Box was rubbish so everyone is going to have wait until he get's the swing album out of the way and cross their fingers that he doesn't come out with Rudebox 2! he has been in rehab again, no doubt he has been writing whilst he has been in there though so it shouldn't be too long Why is this question in the Country music section? Robbie isn't a country artist!
