Maybe Proud Okie knows? or someone? |
Do you consider Dwight Yokum to be 'new country'? I think Dwight is definitely old country. His mentor, so to speak, was Buck Owens. I think PROUD OKIEFAN could answer that one. I hope she is not physically ill, but I think she is sick of all the nonsense that is happening on this site. I thought it was over and done with. i`m okie Report It Definitely not, He's been around since the mid 80's I don't consider that new country. naw, he's not a legend status but he's real good and no where near new country-crap is all that is. Never.... he has been around to long. Now you can NOT compare him to the likes of Garth Brooks or George Strait but none of these new "singers" can even begin to compare to Dwight... No, he's not considered "new", but it's country Even when he was "new" in the '80s, he has always been concerned with preserving that real country sound, and that's okay in my book. like the others said, he aint new. no way no how. No, I don't consider him to be "new country". But I say that because he actually had a little talent. You don't find that in today's "new country". This sh*t ain't country!!! It's pure trash!!! |
