Now I didn't name HW, Sr. because he's one of my fave singers (he's not) but he did help define "country" music in the early days and even non-country music fans KNOW him, so he is definitely a country pioneer.
As to Kitty, I believe she was the first "queen of country music". I love her singing, but again, I didn't choose her because she's a fave...(actually, I prefer Tammy Wynette, Skeeter Davis, and Emmylou Harris), but she was a "first"!
Now George, he's my country king! And Merle is excellent!
I wish I could've named The Carter Family, Jimmy Rodgers, Webb Pierce, Lefty Frizell, and others, but you made me pick only 4...who knew you could be so mean?!!! LOL!!!
