What is the show dawson's creek about?

The show is semi-autobiographical, being based on the small-town childhood of its creator Kevin Williamson (who also wrote the slasher film Scream). The lead character, Dawson Leery, shares Williamson's interests and background. Filmed in Wilmington and Durham, North Carolina, the show was set in a small fictional seaside town called Capeside and focused on four friends who were in the early part of their Sophomore year of high school when the series began.

catwoman is correct but Meek hits the perverbial "nail on the head" The show is about a group of highschoolers who basically are trying to live life. The only 2 things i hated about the show were the theme song and the fact that their dialog was so advanced, that NO high schooler would EVER talk like them.

Dawson's Creek is about the day-to-day struggle in life of four teenage friends on their early sophomore year in high school and how friends can help in times of trouble. Combination of emotional immaturity and self- absorption reflecting actual teens and pictured the reality of the average high school student.
