Question 4 HEROES fans ....about episode 23?

well...i watched the last episode yday ( how to stop an exploding man) and i was wondering...........
if peter could regenerate then shooting him wouldnt really have done anything....
and if it did- then claire could have shot him instead of nathan flying him 2 the sky.......can sum1 plz xplain peters power, can he use more than 1 power at the same tym?? coz he was supposed 2 live after he xploded, but that would mean he would have 2 use 2 powers @ da same time....meaning if he did get shot, the bullet wont affect him.....and how comes he came alive when claire pulled the glass piece out of his head..........

Regeneration does not mean invulnerability. Peter still needs some time to regenerate and in the meantimes, he's hard for him to control any other powers he may have.
He looked like he could not control his nuclear power ability and he was about to explode any seconds so his brother helped him get away as high as possible so he would not hurt anybody and destroy the city when he finally exploded.
Peter can also fly (because his brother can and he absorbed that power) but it's more like if push come to shove, like if he's falling from a building, then the flying power will kick in, providing he's not out of control from becoming an imminent nuclear mushroom.
I think Peter can absorb powers but he cannot control them as well as the people initially using those powers. I don't think he can even control two powers at the same time because just controlling one is hard enough for him.
As for Claire not shooting him, I think she knew it was not certain that shooting Peter would prevent him from exploding.

Also about Claire or Peter dying because of a foreign object in their body and coming alive again once the object is removed, I think that's logical. Wouldn't they look silly walking around with something stuck in their body? Also, it make for great dramatic moments when you think they're dead and then they come back to life!

Edit: I'm watching that show on nbc.com (Season 2, 11 episodes as of 12/03/07) and they keep the last few shows there (the last 5 I think).

will you see the answer in series 2? that is the idea to keep you watching, the regeneration takes it time, the bigger the injury the harder to regenerate, that is my kinda guess from watching it
as for the glass in the head, the power is in the brain, so if there is something stuck in there i spose it blocks the power, hence when pulled out it works.

clare died when a tree branch snapped off in her head she came back to life when it was pulled out same with peter and the piece of class as soon as a foreign body enters the brain they die till it removes hence clare shoots peter he dies and dont explode

I think if Claire/Nathan/Any other Hero knew that Peter would continue to explode, they would keep the bullet/glass/whatever in his brain. Or at least until they found a way for Peter to control himself, or his power.

I wondered why Peter couldn't just fly into the air himself... why did Nathan have to sacrifice himself and lose his family?

season 2 will explain everything, promise. especially the episode titled "4 months ago". it completely goes over what exactly happened after nathan took him up.

anyways, peter is a power absorber like Sylar.
about the glass, in season 2 it is revealed that the only way to kill some1 with regeneration (claire and peter) is to shoot them in the head (kill their brain) as long as the glass is there, the brain isnt intact and cant function. it was blocking the power, so to speak.
claire wouldnt have shot him. he's her unlce and she cares about him alot. had he got shot, he would have regenerated as if nothing. he woulda blown up either way.
