I haven't watched Smallville in a very long time, can someone catch me up to speed?

In the last episode that I remember seeing, Clarke had a premonition that Lana was going to get into a car accident and die. Clarke prevented her from dying, but instead his dad was killed. I just turned it on and apparently Lana's dead. How did she die? Lex Luther is out of prison. Why was he in prison, and are him and Clarke still friends? Who is this Lois chick? How did she get to Smallville and what's going on with her and Clarke? How is Clarke's family? Can someone summarize everything I missed, please?!

wow that episode was a long time ago. Lois is Lois Lane as in Clark's future love. Clark and Lana have obviously broken up and Lana eventually married Lex (in a twist to save Clark because Linoel threatened to kill Clark if Lana didn't marry Lex( and when she tried to leave Lex, he wouldn't, so she staged her own death to escape. she eventually goes back to Clark who tells her everything about who he is and what she can do. Lois got to smallville in the season premiere of season 4 when everyone thought her cousin Chloe Sullivan was dead. Mama Kent took over for papa Kent in the senate and i no long in the show due to her being senator in Washington DC. Lois and Clark consistently have a flirting relationship (foreshadowing) and Lana has a dark side. Lex was in prison for killing Lana in her fake explosion. Lana used a clone Lex made of her to fake her death due to the DNA factor. This was made possible because the clone wasn't alive. Also, Clark discovered his cousin Kara when a dam exploded and he space ship was released. she was frozen and never aged, and when she came out she thought she was looking for Clark as a baby.

lex killed Lana by planting a bomb in her car because she was running away because he runs and created 33.1 or a place for meteor infected people to make them join him to take over the world.luckily Lana was talking to Lionel so i think he calls the police who arrest lex Clark already knew lex was evil and married Lana just to hurt Clark so they aren't friends Lois is the Lois lane who went to smallville to find out where her cousin chloe is (they thought chloe was dead) but nothing is going on beetwen her and clark and clarks dad is dead (both) his real mom is dead his adobtive mom is kansases senator and in lives in washington
