does anyone know when heroes season 3 will start?

That is a fantastic show.

Yeah...the Writer's Strike will ultimately decide it. Worst come to worst...it'll start in Fall '08. Keep your finger's crossed that it won't be that long.

The reason that we got a truncated season this year (normally this would only be a fall break with the rest of the season in the spring) is due to the writters strike. Since there is no end to that in sight there is no telling when we'll get a season 3.

They changed the end of the last episode so that it could serve as a season finale if the strike continued, which it did. Even once the strike is over they'll still have to get scripts written (no member of the WGA can even pick up a pen at this point), get them shot, go through post, etc. So even when the strike ends it would still be up in the air as to when we'd get new shows.

Season 3 will start in Fall of 2008, just as season 2 started in the Fall of 2007.

The big question is whether we'll get the back half of season 2. When the writers' strike loomed imminently, they retooled the episode that was just supposed to end the "Generations" arc so that it could serve as a season finale.

If the writers' strike ends soon, they will start production again, and it will take about 2 months before we see a new episode. As it doesn't look like the strike is going to end soon, and as the creators/PTB would like to do an entire full second half but the network won't want to run episodes in the summer, I'm guessing that season 2 is probably officially over and we'll have to wait until season 3 in the fall to see new episodes.

The second part of Season Two will start in the later half of January granted that the strike is over, if not then who knows when we will see the later half!

Season three will start next year in September.

Chapter three will begin as soon as the Strike is settles and the first show can be produced. That could be mid January or mid February.

Then again if the writers can hold out then who knows. you may be talking Season three being Chapter three.
