Who was the FRIEND who died in Desperate Housewives episode 9?

**Do you really think it was Ida, the old lady with the cat, who died? **Mary Alice said that a "husband" would die, and we know that it was Victor, but she also said that everyone would lose a "friend" and is Ida really considered everyones friend? I鈥檓 just afraid that it will be Tom but he鈥檚 a husband and a friend and a main character of te show. I'm really dying to know. Next episode maybe next year if the writer's strike will continue up to 2008.

I think it might be Ida's cat because Mrs McClusky was talking about how the cat was all Ida had.

Yes it was Ida`s cat. They always referred to it as her best friend.

When Mary Alice says that a woman will lose a husband, and the others will lose a friend, they want usto think it is the same person but it can be two different people:
the husband: Victor, that is to be sure, we see him dying
the friend: Carlos or Tom as they are the only men we don't see at the end of the episode.....
For my part, I think it's Carlos because, there is little chance he woke up just in time to find somewhere to hide, the tornado was almost there. If it's him that's a shame because his a very popular character.........
I don't see how it could be Tom, because they couldn't possibly slaughter all Lynette's family and Mary Alice would have told it as it's even worse than loosing a friend and/or a husband...

They're torturing us with that suspense, I feel as emotional as with the bang episode, and I think I'm going to cry in the next one...

For me, everything is clear : two persons are going to die : one husband and one friend of all.

For the husband, it's obviously Victor Lang.

For the friend, Mary Alice really said a friend of ALL. If, he's a friend of all, he cannot be already an husband of one.

Who could be dying and be a friend of all and not an husband. Not Ida : she's not a friend of all. Not victor : he's not a friend of all.

It could be Tom : I don't think so because the children must be dead too. It's too tragic. And look at something : at the end of the episod, when the storm is on maximum, we see everyone (bree, orson, eddy, gaby, lynette ...) but we did not see Tom and the children in the cellar : maybe because they leave the cellar and the house which falls down .... And in any case, Tom is also an husband and not only a friend of all ...

So the only person who can be the friend of all is CARLOS

And if you see how the actor Ricardo Chavira (who's playing Carlos in DH) is booked in the next months, you can imagine he could undoubtedly leave the tv show.

hold on hold on hold on. just a second. Victor (the husband) is dead. so we know that that's finished. no more problems with him. BUT think about this: Mary Alice said everyone would "lose" a friend. maybe that means that the friend won't necessarily die you know? since Carlos got hit in the head, maybe he has brain damage and will be disabled or go into a coma? that could be "losing" a friend right? think about it.

I have to agree with those who believe that Ida is the friend who dies. Obviously, Victor Lang is the husband and I think there麓s a consensus about it. When it comes to the friend, I don麓t believe it is neither Carlos nor Tom because they are also someone麓s husband or lover. And for those who may complain that Ida was not everyone麓s friend and Ida was not anyone麓s enemy and could be interpreted as everyone麓s friend. Besides, her character was not a crucial one. We must always remember Eddie麓s false suicide. They are just playing with the scenes...

I think Carlos and Victor being dead is way too obvious. And as everyone knows obvious is not typical Housewives. My guess is Tom simply because of Lynette's exiting scream at the end of the show or that old lady with the cat who was lying sleeping in Lynette's basement.
