Does anyone else agree with me that "reality" tv is for the most part talentless..?

I think the unscripted, lack of acting in reality television is somewhat ruining the good talent that comes with good actors...and drama. Not to say that all reality tv is bad,,,but honestly the bulk of it seems to be stuff people desperately come up with.

It's a mind numbing waste of time to watch any reality TV, but it is great for Hollywood, as they don't really need writers, so the strike can go on and soon we will be flooded with mindless reality TV, while it does.

Absolutely, 100%, it encourages talentless people to seek fame for the sake of fame.

Reality tv IS bad! And it is scripted...by editing and coaxing "characters" into confrontational situations. It all needs to be thrown in the trash.

It is talentless, but then again I don't see very many producers coming up with original work for alternate programming.

yes. i hate reality tv especially survivor. its completely pointless and soo stupid. lets burn every tape made from reality tv. ill bring the fire. :)

When Elvis "tried" to sing on the Grand Old Opry, they wouldn't let him & told him he'd never make it as a performer.

and why do they call it "Reality"? Like most of us are ever gonna be trapped in a house with 10 others, or stranded on a Desert Island? Reality TV is bring the cameras to the job and watch us at school or work all day!!! Then we could go home and let them film us fighting with the siblings/parents/spouse/kids! NOw THATS REALITY!!!

Reality TV is not suppose to be about good acting and TV scripted drama. It is suppose to be about real life situations and occurrences. So therefore reality TV is not giving TV scripted dramas and other shows of that sort a bad name because they are totally different categories. So I don't think it is ruining people at all. Reality TV has had some of the highest rating ever in television. Most people prefer reality shows over regular scripted dramas. Take currently, I Love New York Two, Tila Tequila, and other shows like Rock of Love, America's Next Top Model, Flavor of Love, Survivor: people love these shows and that's why they continue to be on television. The people on them are outrageous, and it is 95% reality, all of it. The ratings are high, but I respect you for your opinion...

i find most of it entertaining...these ppl aren't actors and aren't expected to be. if someone could come up with an original television program maybe that would be a nice change, but i haven't seen one in years....come to think of it not many original movie concepts either....seems the same ideas just in new presentation...so reality tv maybe changing tv, but at least it's a diversion....
