Is anyone else tired of the stupid writers strike?? |
I miss my tv shows! Its been soooo long since ive seen The Daily Show, The Colbert Report.......And now worst of all THEY POSTPONED SEASON 7 OF 24!!!! They need to go ahead and hire new workers or give them the money they need! I guess it would depend on what shows you usually watch. Most of the ones I enjoy are still running first run episodes--CSI, Cold Case and Without a Trace, so I haven't reallly felt the effects of the strike. In January though it will be a bleak time with only repeats and that is when there will be more of an outcry. YEah I am real sick of it!!! I attempted to watch Grey's last night only to find it was a rerun!!! They need to stop this damn strike!!! Doesn't bother me. 99% of tv shows are crap. Thank goodness it's football season! Apparently you are naive about how this works. You can't just go out and find replacement writers. It their talent that makes those shows good. They NEED to be paid fairly. A lot more than you need to watch a show! Hmmm.... since I don't have a TV, and have no interest in the fake lives of non-existant people, my answer is no, I'm not tired of the strike, as it does not affect me in the slightest! But for your sake, I hope it ends soon. The "stupid writers" are on strike? I would think that would be a good thing. Yes, it's horrible. The mean salary of WGA members is $5,000.00 annually. That should be plenty of money to live on in LA. How horrible of them to deprive you of your TV shows for something as crass as money. Just because they get the same amount off of DVD sales as they did 20 years ago, that's no reason to ask for a raise. Four cents per DVD sale is plenty. In fact, after a few hundred thousand sales they can take a vacation from working that third job as a barista at Starbucks. yea i really miss the Jimmy Kimmel Live show I think the Writers Strike is a fantastic thing. Don't get me wrong, I miss the shows I typically watch, however the writers are getting an unfair salary. Sure, they DO make a ton of money, but they're getting no profit for DVD sales nor downloads. The writers do need to be paid fairly and should continue striking until they get their way. No. I support the writers. I'll miss Nip/Tuck if it's a show that's affected but I have to support the writer. I'm a worker too. Blame the executives because the writers are not asking for too much. It's greed and ego that is keeping this thing going. Apparently the only people who *aren't* tried of the stupid writers strike are the writers. And where I used to refer to the strike as stupid, now I'm starting to feel it's the writers who are stupid. |
