Astrology!! AHHH?

Help me... I am HOOKED on astrology! It's infiltrated my mind, and I am unable to stop myself from categorizing people according to their birthdays! I seriously look for the ways people "fit" their signs. I need to stop. NOW. But how...?

This is a pretty long phase... I've been doing for like 4 or 5 years now. It's just an annoying habit (to me) that has put serious filters on the way i perceive reality. I think of it as something negative.

There's nothing wrong with an interest in astrology, but (personal opinion here) it's not something you should live your life by. There's part of me that thinks it's all a bunch of hooey. And then there's the other part of me that realizes that there are a lot of valid "steriotypes" in the astrological signs. Personally, I fit very well into the Aquarius sign (my sign), but I don't fit at all into any of the other ones. Just make sure you don't let it rule your life, maintain a healthy interest. And don't feel let down when someone doesn't fit their sign.

It's very easy to "fit" people to their astrological signs, because astrological descriptions are so vague and generic that they can fit anybody. Astrology is useless and doesn't work as a practical science because it cannot be used to actually predict any of your friends' future behavior.

back in high school i was like u....i used to read every single astrology book found in the library....go to every single astrology websites...n match them with ppl i met. but now i am a bit over it....not completely though....i am extremely interested in occult...so now i study about psychic abilities, tarots n wicca.....n yep, my chart even says that i lean towards occult science a lot. thats all right i will say....after all there is nothing wrong in knowing about things that remain invisible from us at day time.

I went through the same thing and I know exactly what you mean.

Ultimately I think it comes from a desire to categorize people, more than it comes from astrology. And I think it stops when you get to know a few people who really aren't like their signs say they're supposed to be. (There are always a few of those).

If it's any consolation to you, I went through the same thing with tarot cards. In tarot there's a "significator" which is a major arcana card that represents someone. I used to categorize everyone by a card in the major arcana.

I'm not sure how it stopped... it was just a phase I think.

Although I still love tarot.

It is very difficult to stop because astrology is a like a drug. Not asking for birth info is one way to quit.

However, if you do not, in about 5 years you can turn professional. It's a good good living.

Hey!! We're the same! I can really say that astrology is some kind of addicting right?? Anyway, I've get over it now coz I always think now that we shouldn't judge people based on their sign coz still...not all of people are exposed to the same environment...meaning...some of their characteristics may arise even it is opposites of what their sign should have... besides every people have NO the same birth chart meaning we have different characteristics and personality from others.... And birth charts are soo hard to track for every person...

the Best way to defeat something is to understand it. try understanding astrology. the way i see it is Babylonians came up with astronomy and Greeks made planets gods. so its misinterpretation. see its not real, its only real in your mind that's why its real to you.

by the way you don't ask people their birthday when you first meet them, because that's a very rude question to ask ladies lol.

There's no shame in being a spiritual person. And whether you go to seek further answers to life and what's beyond or to live out the rest of your life believing in only science (astrology is a form of science by the way) and that this life is all there is, surrounding yourself in four walls for the rest of your little existance is your choice. Because you have that freedom.
