What do I ask an astrologer to determine if they really know their craft?

I went to an astrologer once, and she was so technical that I could not determine if she was genuine or what she was telling me. I have some questions about why my luck changed so dramatically and when, if ever, it will return.

If I consulted with a tarot card reader, how would I know if they were good at their craft and not just blowing smoke?

If I was going to spend my money, I would want the best. But with astrologers, it's a crap shoot. It would be nice if there is some way to have a rating system or testing. This would also avoid self-delusion.
The nature of the paranormal is belief oriented. You must believe or there is no point. But with some people the belief is stronger than the reality.

Well, every astrologer will have a different way of doing things. It sounds like that lady simply forgot to translate the information down to your level. I would actually implore you to consult a tarot reader if you want a more personal, intutive response.
Next time, ask your astrologer to talk informally about the signs. If you can talk informally and explain it to anyone, I think you know astrology.

Some people actually get degrees in this. But if they really know their stuff they should be able to explain it in terms you can understand. You can do your astrology on line and get great answers for free. I'd try that for a while and see if they are all the same or totally different.

When an astrologer knows his craft and trying to persuade a very skeptical person, i find this interesting and never failed in convincing them instantly. What I do, is bring out some physical discomfort or sickness or operations they may have had.
Now,nobody likes to talk or discuss health problems. So, i bring them out in the open. Usually, a person reacts instantly because I don't know them and they wonder. How did he know this? Their are so many things you can tell by the energy theperson gives off.
I compare this to a radio station. One sends the signal, the other receives.
I do read palms and handwriting ....so the combination of all this helps immensely.

Astrologers who don't know their craft have a tendency to beat around the bush, in the hopes of confusing you to believe anything they say.

If you want to test if they know their craft ask about the relationship between astrology and the bible and see how they respond. There is no particular response to expect. Feel for what kind of vibe they give off and you will know if they are legit. Trust your gut instinct.
