They don't have to be together, but they are definitely a great match. I am a Virgo and a majority of my best friends are Capricorns and I have never met a sign I am more compatible with (besides my boyfriend that is, who is a Taurus).

Well, I'm a virgo with a capricorn partner and many cap friends. These signs have good compatibility, but some my capricorn partner makes me crazy. Virgo needs to learn to accept capricorn's random nature and capricorn needs to accommadate virgo's need for information and detailed planning.
As far as sexually it can be difficult, but if you are a very sexual virgo then you can get along with the (what we call) perverted capricorn. It has it's ups and downs.
