Aries is the first Sign of the Zodiac, and that's pretty much how those born under this Sign see themselves: first. Arians are the leaders of the pack, first in line to get things going. Whether or not everything gets done is another question altogether, for Arians far prefer to initiate than to complete. Do you have a project needing a kick-start? Call an Aries, by all means. The leadership displayed by Arians is most impressive, so don't be surprised if they can rally the troops against seemingly insurmountable odds -- they have that kind of personal magnetism. Arians at play seem to toil as hard as they work. These folks are happiest playing a spirited game of soccer or engaging in the martial arts. In the game of love, the Ram's ardor is unquestioned, although Arians can also be playful and romantic with their mate. I'm an Aries too, and I can tell you that not all Aries-Suns fit neatly into a horoscope about the sign. There are many reasons for this. For example, the sign itself is split into three decans...and though Mars rules all of Aries, each decan has a secondary ruler. If you were born between March 21 and March 30, then your Sun (ego/where you shine) really is ruled by Mars. But if you were born between March 31 and April 10, then your Sun's secondary ruler is the Sun...and if you were born between April 11 and 20 (like me), then your Sun's secondary ruler is Jupiter.
My point is, even a secondary ruler can change the personality of the Aries Sun (as well as any sign). Mars Aries people come on pretty strong to others because they are very dynamic and self-assertive. Their energy and drive is through the roof with a double-shot of Mars in their ego. They are also the most childlike...the babies of the zodiac...throwing tantrums when angry or positively filled with wide-eyed wonder when discovering something new and exciting. Though there is volatile energy in this decan ready to make like a volcano and blow, the Mars Aries has a tenacious way of getting what they want and generating the ideas that get them to their goals quickly.
The Sun Aries adds a little more warmth and flair to the aggressive nature of the sign. These are very original thinkers who may have a tendency toward dramatics but always seem to come up with the best ideas for everyone, making them natural born leaders. Also, they are very protective of the ones they love and find it difficult to go through life without a partner (contrary to the self-sufficient nature of most Aries). When they make friends though, they do so with a genuine interest, good sense of humor, and happy-go-lucky nature.
