My Sun Sign: Aquarius (Air)
My Moon Sign: Aries (Fire)
My Ascendant/Rising: Virgo (Earth)
My Descendant: Pisces (Water)

I don't ever attract people who are compatible with my sun & moon sign, but i always attract people who are compatible with my Ascendant/Descendant Signs.

I might be inclined to agree. I am an aries with a Virgo rising. I have never been with a compatible sign of mine. I always have been with Taurus or Scorpio and a Capricorn or 2. I am with a Scorpio but I've never had experience with the "compatible" ones to me (Fire & Air)

I am attracted to attractive people...it has nothing to do with the sun or moon or planets or stars. It's just me and her, nothing else involved.

Yes, you're right. I have a scorpio rising, and I always attract water and earth signs, altho they are incredibly Incompatible with me, after the first conversation. But I'm a gemini with a leo moon and I am much much better off with air and fire signs.
The ascendant is your physical characteristics and how you project yourself out into the world, so therefore you attract earth and water signs with a virgo ascendant.

With who you attract, or who's attracted to you, the Ascendant is the "boss" of the instant-attraction reaction.

If you're looking at astrological compatibility as a whole, then I'd check Sun, Moon, Venus, and Mars (as well as the aspects between them, and the Houses they're located in) for a deeper or more lasting compatibility.

Physical attraction without thought to the lasting potential of the relationship, definitely the Asc and First House, and their interactions between both your charts.

In my case I am a leo sun, gem moon, scorpio rising. I have always just attracted water, fire, & air signs. Currently my husband is a pisces. And before that I was only attracting scorpios left & right YIKES!!!.
